Pittsburgh Trip
As I mentioned in the last post - the Nelson family went to Pittsburgh for a short vacation this past weekend. Overall, it was a very good trip. Last time we were in Pittsburgh we got extremely lost and drove all over the city for several hours - all that wandering must have been useful because this time we drove around the city like pro's.
Friday we went to a little area across the river from downtown called Station Square. The weather was good and it was nice to stroll along the river with Ada. There was some kind of "battle of the bands" thing going on that was way too loud (getting old, huh?) so we didn't hang around in the central square much. The whole thing reminded me of what I imagine Iowa's "Clive at Five" to be like.
Saturday we slept in abit and then headed out to the Zoo. The weather was really beautiful and I think half of Pittsburgh decided to go to the zoo that day. It was super busy. Most of the animals were too far away for Ada to get excited about, but she really liked the aquarium. I could hold her right up to the glass so she could get a good look at everything.

Sunday we went to the Conservatory that run by Carnegie Mellon University. They were having this special Chihuly glass exhibit that was really cool. The glass sculptures were nicely integrated into the theme of each greenhouse. It was really beautiful. Here one of our favorite rooms (Marna and I - Ada slept through most of this):
