Southern Thanksgiving

Marna and I headed down to Calabash, NC to spend Thanksgiving with her mom and dad. Calabash is a little town about 1 mile from the South Carolina state line and about 4 miles inland from the ocean. Some of you might remember that Calabash is where we spent our honeymoon. The drive from PA isn't too bad (about 11 hours) but we decided to split it into two half-days since Marna gets uncomfortable sitting in one position for too long and I did all the driving.

We had a great time and the weather cooperated later in the week (temps in the high 60's - low 70's). Marna's dad and I did some maintenance on the house (replacing some flooring and other misc. things) and we made it to the beach on three occasions. The last two times were very nice in terms of temperature and sun, some people were even swimming.

We had a pretty traditional Thanksgiving dinner, the few southern items were collard greens and cornbread stuffing. Everything was excellent.

the missing Yandeau (Ben had to work at the ski-hill on Saturday so couldn't make it down). This is from early-October when he came to State College for a visit. It appears Marna is pulling her jacket in another successful attempt at camoflage.
